Let Me Introduce Myself....

AJohnson.jpg        My name is Angela Johnson, Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS) for DeKalb County School District. This is my sixth year as an ITS. Prior to entering this role, I taught middle and high school science for 20 years.
One of the things I recall about my childhild is my fascination with science-nature. I recall bringing Seahorses to the dinner table for my family to see, constructing a hospital for ants out of the bricks on our home, planting gardens for my children, and spending days exploring the woods of Fernbank Science Center and Panola State Park. So, I guess you can say my favorite hobby is enjoying the outdoors and one of favorite smells is fresh soil and rain. I love gazing at the stars in early morning hours and thinking about the small details of how our bodies have been knitted together. It just blows my mind away.

That being said, I suppose it does not surprise you that my favorite genre for movies is Science Fiction. I know almost every line of the movie Signs and I have watched every season (all the episodes) of Stargate-SG1 and the X-Files.

One of my favorite quote from Vince Lamboarde expresses what I feel about our students.

"Excellence can be attained if you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others thinks is safe, dream more than others thinks is practical, and expect more than others think you should".

I believe our students are worthy of all we have to give. At the end of the day after all has been said and done, they are all that matter and I hope that message is conveyed as I support them, their teachers and their parents.
