Business and Career Education
The Middle School Business and Information Technology Curriculum is designed to enable students to develop touch keyboarding with emphasis on entering alphabetic, numeric, and symbol information. The students will strive for acceptable levels of speed and accuracy. While enhancing skills from the math, language arts, science, and social studies curriculum, students will explore the use of the computer as a problem-solving tool using word processing software, presentation software, spreadsheet applications, and data base applications. Business and information technology careers and ethical issues related to the use of computers and software will also be addressed.

Objectives |
*Operates an alphanumeric keyboard using the touch system. *Applies formatting skills in various business documents. *Demonstrates basic knowledge of information processing software packages. *Examines traits, skills training, education, and conditions needed to succed in various business occupations. *Researchs and uses information about specific occupations.

Notebook Paper Pencil and Pen Activity Folder-The teacher will provide a folder, which must remain in the class, but may be signed out for parental observation and study.

Expectations and Procedures |
1. Be respectful of yourselves and others, as well as their property. 2. No gum, food, or beverage allowed. 3. Please handle all equipment with care. 4. Be prepared for class. 5. Students are to remain seated at all times unless permission is given. 6. Students will not be allowed to go to lockers during class. 7. Use of outside software is prohibited.

Committing an offense such as profanity, fighting or making physical contact, weapons, drugs, inappropriate bodily contact, or verbal threats will result in an immediate referral.
