(email from a parent at the end of his kindergarten year)
Thank you so much for the best introduction, for our family, into elementary school. My son has has the most amazing kindergarten experience because of you! He has learned so much and always comes home with a big smile on his face. We are all really going to miss you this summer. Hopefully you will back at Vanderlyn next year and maybe you will have our daughter. Have a wonderful summer!

(Note from a kindergarten parent)
My daughter said yesterday, "I wish this school year was just getting ready to start!" She is going to miss you.

(email from a kindergarten parent to our principal)
My daugher gave Ms. Everett the biggest compliment this morning without even realizing it. She was packing her little stuffed jaguar to take as her "friend" today for being on "Superstar" behavior all last week, and she was talking to it, and I overheard the following:
"Speckles, you're going to love it there. It's a paradise of learning. Ms. Everett puts learning here (motioned with hand to the right) and fun here (motioned to left) and squishes them together like an Oreo."
Her exact quote. How awesome is that?!
All I can say is THANK YOU.

(email to our principal and assistant principal from a kindergarten parent)
My daughter is a student in Ms. Everett's kindergarten class. This is our family's first year at our school, and we will have another kindergartener in a couple of years.
I wanted to send a letter to tell you how happy and thrilled we are with Ms. Everett. She is an amazing teacher, and my husband and I have been thrilled with the level of quality she demonstrates. She is warm, engaging, in control, and challenges the kids in ways that they feel they are just having fun. Frankly, I cannot imagine it getting any better than Ms. Everett.
We started the year with a lot of concern over having a temporary teacher (although Mrs. Knorr was wonderful), and were anxious about who we would end up with. Boy, did we hit the jackpot. I'm amazed at the work that comes home with Clara, and at her enthusiasm for it as well.
Since I know parents are often quicker to send notes of complaint rather than compliments, I wanted to thank you both for hiring such a great teacher, and to go on record saying that I think our school is lucky to have Ms. Everett.

(From a pre-k parent)
You are an amazing teacher. "My daughter" loved her first week of pre-k! The first words she spoke on Wednesday morning as she bounding into the kitchen were, "I'M A READER!" It was so cute. We had to ask the reader what she wanted to drink and eat. The night before that, she refused to let us read to her because she was a reader and wanted to read to us. She picked a familiar book and "read it" to us. She was very proud of herself. On Thursday night, after reading, she stood up and dropped the book on the hardwood floor with a loud bang and looked at us. Then she said, "That's gravity." Then she held up her arms and let them fall to her sides and said, "That's gravity." She is so excited about learning and just loves you so much! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are outstanding!

(An email from a former 2010-2011 parent)
Dear Ms Everett,
How are you? How is your year? I miss you so much.
My son is doing great. He is reading and he is writing short sentences by himself. He likes kindergarten a lot but he says that nobody sings like Ms Everett!.=)
I was remembering all the wonderful memories I have from Pre-K with you. I wanted to thank you for letting me be part of that. I will treasure those moments forever. I hope all the parents come to your door and enjoy the experiences with their children. I miss not be able to do it for my other children at (a different school).
I hope you are having a great year and your children and parents engage in the adventure.
Thank you,
A big hug

My daughter is learning sooo much in your class! She loves to sing the different songs you have taught her. She is always telling us about the vowels getting hot and sweaty and all about the seasons. She just loves you so much. I have to pretend to be you at least once a day. Thank you for being so amazing! I know your job is ridiculously difficult. I appreciate you every single day!

My daughter's pre-k teacher rocks. Tonight she was asking my husband and I if we know what alliteration means? Alliteration, seriously, what four or five year old knows how to identify an alliteration? I am impressed.
